Newcomer questions here. I have 2 fields in the Austin area that have been leased to a farmer and row cropped for years. I would like to convert these fields to pasture. The field sizes are 5 and 24 acres. This year maize was planted and has been harvested and the plant stalks remain. Besides the need for a soils test what are the next steps and timeframe for field prep?
