I've heard that a number of producers were grazing stocker cattle on mutua during the winter months, and were seeing great results with proper grazing practices (2.8-3.2 lbs/day in one article). I can't find much about mutua in my web searching attempts. Is mutua recommended for the south plains stocker?

Troy

Did a google search-here's the link:http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=matua+bromegrass&btnG=Google+Search

I think the spelling of matua was the problem.
In the mid 90's there were several circles of matua planted in the Muleshoe & Lazbuddie area. Not sure if any is left. I heard they got a lot of gain but it took lots of water & fertilizer. Hope this is helpful.

Good luck & happy trails
