My main question is concerning methods of over-seeding medics on coastal bermudagrass in Gillespie Cty. General rec's are usually to graze, hay or mow short, then broadcast and drag. My question I guess is maybe directed towards the specialists, as to whether there's been any studies or personal experience on burning off the dormant forage, then broadcasting, possibly post - light disking. The intention here would be to enhance the percent of seed germination, thus higher seed production for re-seeding, at lower initial rates. (i.e minimized inputs) % Loss of bermuda grazing in establishment year is assumed to be out-weighed by legume benefits.

Or towards another method, the consideration of a well prepared seed-bed just at the very top surface, as might be achieved with a rotary tiller. Maybe 1/2" deep. My real curiosity being how much this would set back my coastal in the following growing season.

Tillage or burning would not occur in any case prior to dormancy for either of these scenarios.

Thanks for any info.
