Hello,
Can anyone provide a brief timeline for renovating a pasture? The pasture is about 20 acres. It has been unattended for many years. It will be divided by fence into two smaller 10 acre pastures so we can rotate. It has some bermuda (not sure which variety) and weeds, bare spots, sand-bar willow and green-briar that we are working on removing. Can someone advise what we should do first and at what time of year we should be doing these things (short term and long term)? I plan to keep two horses on the pasture and would like to bring back the bermuda for grazing.
-When do we fertilize?
-When do we apply weed control?
-Can we seed with bermuda? (we do not have irrigation) When should we seed?
-Should we shred and/or disc?
We are in Richland Springs, TX on sandy soil (which I will send to the lab for testing). Thank you for any advice.
