I have prepared 10 acres up near Marble Falls in the river bottom for planting in Coastal. I like the T85 but realize that there is no way I can keep it cut ever 4 to 5 weeks.

I have disked and dragged the field several times until it is level and ready to plant in the next few weeks.

How much would I expect to pay if I have it sprigged with coastal?

I can rent a sprigger for 8$/acre. If I have to do it myself how many bushels per acre would you plant per acre. I see that 20 is the minimum.

I had the Aggie lab do an analysis and I need 95lbs N/60 lbs P2O5/ 10 lbs K2O/ and 10 lbs Sulfur pwe acre. I was planning to sprig first then have Agortec put out the liquid fertalizer as above with some 2,4 D about a month after planting when the grass looks like has started to grow along with the weeds.

Is there a place around south of Austin where one can buy sprigs that have been baled? My trailer has a 14'x5ftx4ft sides which I am afraid is not enough trailer to get sprigs to really cover 10 acres with more that 20 bushels to the acre.

Is there anyone that sells the Coastcross1 in the area? Do you think it is too cold around Marble Falls for this type of coastal?

Thanks,

Jim

I have another 5 acres in a pecan grove that is holding my few cows until the coastal takes off. This area has had assorted bermuda of assorted types growing it from the past. I fertalized this area last year and some of the bermuda came back but who knows what type. If I can get the 10 acre field up and going how late can I plant a seeded varity say (Gaint and commom) between the trees and open areas and have it surrive? OR should I plan to plant this next year?

Boy did I ask a lot of Question. :-)
