okay- i'm new to haying-sprigged jiggs last year, pretty good establishment for this season-made first cutting, applied recomended fertilizer, sprayed with grazon p+d, now i'm covered in worms. what is the best procedure now? it seems as if certain areas of my field are dying off and the worms are pretty thick. help?? the field is mostly for horses.

Answered by Dr. Larry Redmon, TAMU Forage Specialist, Apply 4 oz of Malathion 57% + 4 oz of Sevin XLR Plus. Animals must remain out of the field for 14 days and there is a 14-day waiting period for hay harvest. Sevin XLR Plus may only be applied twice per year.
