A year or so ago I read an article that stated the quality of cured, standing, smooth brome grass decreased more rapidly through the winter than the quality of native grasses. As I recall the author said that range fed bison would loose weight on smooth brome but gain weight on native grasses. Unfortunately, I didn't write down the citation for the article and I can't find it again. If anyone has that citation or information about any other articles or reports I would appreciated that information.
