Experience

Ed joined the CNRIT team in October 2007.  He has 16 years field sampling experience in 7 states.  He has expertise in rangeland plant identification, field sampling techniques, Phygrow modeling, and ArcMap.  He has worked on the BRASS, FRAMS, Phygrow, Ft Hood, Afghanistan PEACE, and Forest Service projects at CNRIT.  Ed has been a member of the Society for Range Management since 1997, has served as co-chair of the Student Conclave sub-committee within the society since 2007, and has served as Associate Editor of Rangelands since 2010.  He is also a member of the Ecological Society of America, Soil & Water Conservation Society, Association of Fire Ecology and International Association of Wildland Fire.

Interests

In his spare time, Ed enjoys hunting, fishing, camping, hiking, skiing, XBox, and road trips.  He likes college football and Aggie Football.  While a student at Texas A&M, Ed was a member of the Fightin' Texas Aggie Band and the Corps of Cadets.  While at Oregon State, he coached the intercollegiate Range Plant Identification Team.
